Who We Are

A congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Christ the Servant teaches that we are saved by the gift of God’s grace through faith. By that grace we are called to love one another and become disciples of Jesus Christ through lives of service. We seek to be active advocates for social justice, to share our resources in times of disaster, and to be a source of healing for a hurting world.

Our Story

Sunday Morning, October 23, 1966 was the first meeting of Christ The Servant Lutheran Church. This newly formed mission congregation was attended by 47 adults and 23 children. On October 27, 1968, Reformation Sunday, the Texas-Louisiana Synod conducted the rite of church organization and officially became a church of the Lutheran Church of America (later to become ELCA). 63 people became charter members of Christ The Servant.
