2024 Luncheon a Huge Success

We are so very thankful for the tremendous support from our Denton community! We have our final numbers and this year, on our 25th anniversary we hit our goal of $25,000 to donate to our beneficiaries who do so much to care for the hungry and homeless in Denton.

Thank you Denton Community Food Center and Our Daily Bread for all you do to help others in our community!

Generous Community Support

We greatly appreciate all of our sponsors and artists who aid in our mission by contributing funds and goods. With the support of our generous community we are able to successfully accomplish our mission to raise awareness in our community of the food insecurity and hunger that many face here in Denton. Because of our sponsors, we are able to donate 100% of our proceeds to Denton Community Food Center and Our Daily Bread Community Kitchen.

What is Empty Bowls?

Empty Bowls is an international effort to fight hunger. We are fortunate to have this program right here in Denton for the benefit of our community.

Empty Bowls is a fundraising luncheon where ticket-holders select a handcrafted bowl of their choice, and are served bread and delicious soup...a ministry of Christ The Servant Lutheran Church in Denton.

All proceeds from this benefit are given to assist the Denton Community Food Center and Our Daily Bread together with Monsignor King Outreach Center in Denton.

Get Involved

If you want to be involved, contact the church office. Professional artists of all kinds can help; from potters who donate bowls, to artists who glaze and fire bowls, to professionals in other media who promote the event. If you're not an artist, then you can still help us raise money to feed the hungry in Denton.

We have already begun to collect bowls for the next luncheon. We would also love to make a presentation to your group, about the needs of the hungry in our community, and how you can help.

2023 Event Success

The 2023 Empty Bowls of Denton Event had a banner year raising over $20,000. The $10,000 given to Our Daily Bread provided approximately 2,000 meals to our neighbors in need. The $10,000 given to the Denton Community Food Center enabled them to purchase approximately $80,000 worth of food from the Tarrant Area Food Bank and local retailers.
